2015-2016
FCO1 Family and Consumer Science Education

Family and Consumer Science Education has changed, and we will now be a tested area.  Students will take a Measures of Student Learning (MSL) test at the end of the course.  The curriculum is divided into 7 modules.  We have assigned certain modules to certain grade levels. Students will only test on 2-3 modules, depending on the grade they are in during my class.

I am very excited to have a new, updated curriculum which will help guide you through many areas to make you a well rounded 21st Century Learner.  Although you will be tested on certain areas during your time with me, I will cover parts of all objectives during your time in my class.

I will be integrating science, math, social studies and language arts throughout my curriculum to reinforce core subjects.  I will also be teaching life skills, good character, as well as traditional “old school” home economic topics.  We will cook, some grades will hand sew and learn to machine stitch, while others will learn childcare along with a Red Cross babysitter course.

We are going to have a good time and learn invaluable skills that will serve you throughout your entire life!

I ask that you show your WARRIOR PRIDE daily, not just in my room, but all around Campus. Be PREPARED, POSITIVE, RESPONSIBLE, AND RESPECTFUL. We will cover these concepts in extreme detail over the coming weeks!
